“Link building” is a way to create connections on the internet. Think of it like giving out your business card or spreading the word about your online store.
As soon as you open your online store you should start link building.
Here are a few suggestions on how to start your link building campaign:
1.- Comment on Relevant Online Forums
People are looking for your products but they don’t how to find you. Find online forums of people that would be interested on purchasing your products and answer their questions online. Leave a link to your site on your signature; they will find it if your answer caught their attention.
2.- Become an Expert
Signup to Yahoo! Answers or Wiki Answers. Find questions relevant to your products and post your best answer. Be sure to be clear and precise. Drop a link to your online store after you are done or invite people to visit your online store.
3.- Tweet and Follow
Open a Twitter account and begin tweeting about your products and on sale specials. Adding coupon codes always helps. Link to your store at the end of your Tweets. Open a Facebook account and invite your friends to follow you. Follow others so they may follow you as well. Post promo codes or new products to your wall and let everyone know about your store and what you are doing.
